Purpose and Mechanism
The troponin-I test kit is used to measure the abnormal levels of cardiac troponin in human blood serum/plasma, thereby helping to identify the risk of myocardial infarction. Troponin I is a biomarker and is released shortly after the onset of acute myocardial infarction. The level of troponin-I should be below an average level in a healthy person; therefore, diagnosis of its elevated levels in a person with suspected AMI is necessary.
The test kit works on the principle of chromatographic immunoassay. When the sample is added to the sample pad, it moves across and reacts with the specific antibodies, forming a distinct line.
