Purpose and Mechanism
Syphilis Ag is a rapid test card used to detect syphilis antigen in human blood serum/plasma. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection that
can cause severe organ damage if left untreated. The card utilizes a chromatographic technique to detect IgA, IgM, and IgG generated against Treponema pallidum
antigens (17 kDa, 15 kDa, and 47 kDa). In the card, these antigens are immobilized on the test region. When the specimen passes through the strip, the antibodies
attach to the antigens, forming a line on the test region. For control, goat anti-mouse IgG antibodies are immobilized at the end of the strip.
