Purpose and Mechanism
The PSA test kit is a diagnostic tool to detect prostate-specific antigens in whole blood/serum/plasma. This screening can help identify prostate cancer and other related cancers. The PSA kit is based on the effective principle of a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay in a sandwich format. It contains a conjugate pad, which is coated with anti-PSA antibodies labeled with a visible tag such as colloidal gold. When the buffer is applied, prostate-specific antigens bind to these labeled antibodies, creating a distinct line.
