Lenvatinib capsules are indicated for the treatment of various types of cancer. Its major application is in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (Liver Cancer), differentiated thyroid cancer, and advanced renal carcinoma (Kidney Cancer). It is often administered in combination with other remedies. It works by inhibiting the production of multiple kinases, which are responsible for tumor growth. By this, Lenvatinib suppresses tumor growth and prevents the formation of new blood vessels, thereby halting cell advancements.
Common side effects are hypertension, diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss, decreased appetite, nausea, hand-foot syndrome, and proteinuria. There are a few serious side effects, such as hepatic failure, renal impairment, gastrointestinal perforation, or fistula.
