Purpose and Mechanism
The HBsAg card is a rapid test kit used for detecting the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human blood serum/plasma. Hepatitis B is a sexually transmitted or bloodborne disease. It can cause acute or chronic infection and liver cirrhosis. The hepatitis antigen consists of lipid, carbohydrate, and protein elements, which work as markers for identification. Our rapid test kit works on the principle of a sandwich immunoassay. It contains a nitrocellulose strip with immobilized monoclonal antibodies conjugated with colloidal gold. To control the flow, the end of the strip includes goat anti-mouse IgG. When the sample is introduced to the card, it flows through the pad, and if it contains antigens, it binds to the gold-antibody complex.
