Purpose and Mechanism
Dengue antibody IgG/IgM test kits are used for the rapid detection of immunoglobulin G and immunoglobulin M in all types of dengue viruses using human blood serum/plasma. Dengue is a prevalent infection in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. It is a fatal disease due to its morbidity and mortality rates. There are four distinct types of dengue viruses, namely dengue viruses 1, 2, 3, and 4. The test device contains three pre-coated lines: “G” for IgG, “M” for IgM, and “C” for control lines. A dengue-specific antigen complexed with gold conjugate is placed in the conjugate pad with anti-human IgG and IgM fixed on the membrane. For control, the membrane at last contains goat anti-mouse IgG. When the specimen is added to the sample well, the dengue antigen reacts with the antibodies and forms complexes. Anti-human antibodies capture these complexes to make a line.
